The International Olympic Committee last Wednesday named Salt Lake City as the preferred host of the 2034 Winter Games – a big step toward locking down its bid next year. The final decision will be put to a vote in July, just before the start of the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. Park City is planning to host some 60% of the events.
